An Explanation

OK, I suppose that an explanation is owed regarding the name of this blog. It's a quote from ST, a guy that I work with. We were golfing shortly after I had bought a new putter (Odyssey 2-ball). On the first green, I mentioned how it was time to see if my new purchase was worth the money. His reply was what you now see as the title of this blog. Yes, I stole the quote and now I'm giving credit where credit is due. Thankfully for me, it seems to be the arrows because I putted much better with my new putter. A little fine tuning and I hope to see strokes being shaved off my score.

For what it's worth, the mallet style Odyssey 2-ball putter is a great feeling putter and lining up your put is a breeze because it looks like you have 2 balls right behind yours when you putt. It's easy to see where the ball is going to go. I definitely list it as a "buy" for all you golfers out there.

A new Blog!

Well, since EVERYBODY is doing it, why not me? It's a long story really. I'll give you the short version. This is the second blog that I've done in my life. The first was quite a monument of writing and web design. Actually, it was more writing and less web design but you get the idea. It was almost 7 years ago - the infancy of the monstrosity that we now call the internet. Anyway, I posted random insights, thoughts, rants and other stuff. There was also a group of internet bloggers that provided me some good feedback on the whole thing and even sparked them to write some blogs addressing my writings. I had something to say and I had a newfound outlet. That was until my girlfriend at the time stumbled upon the blog, thought it was a horrible thing and told me if I didn't shut it down, she'd break up with me. Well, I was running out of things to say anyway and since I wanted to try and make the relationship work, I shut it down. That was that - 7 months later, she and I were done. The blog never returned. Truthfully, it wasn't a bad thing. My writings were very pointed and sometimes controversial - things that could easily have become detrimental to my current career path. I suppose I owe her a belated thank you. So, ex-girlfriend who shall remain unnamed, "thank you".

Fast-forward to today. My buddies from college have started blogging and I thought I would give it another go. Only this time, it's going to be, well, not so heavy on the subject matter. I put way too much thought into my job on a daily basis to then come home and write some deep, introspective dissertation. Sorry folks, I just don't have the energy. I also know I don't have the time to update on a daily basis - or even a weekly basis for that matter - so don't expect it.

What can you expect to read here? My musings on all things that are completely inconsequential to the overall betterment of humanity - things such as beer, poker, golf, tv, movies, etc. Also, I don't use names - mainly to protect myself not to mention the innocent or guilty parties involved in my day to day life. You shouldn't expect to see things that are overly personal. Maybe a short recap of an out of the ordinary weekend. You won't find pictures here either (you know, the whole guilty and innocent parties thing). So, I think that's it for now. Maybe tomorrow I'll write something else on this blog - so keep checking back!
